Watson and Ann Smith

Over the past few years, Center Point Baptist Church has grown to know and love a special couple within our church body. That is why; they are our first featured members (in this case couple) for our website. They are Watson and Ann Smith. The Smiths recently were crowned our Valentine’s Day King and Queen in February 2008! You can always find them at church on time and with a faithful heart for the Lord. Ann recalls being saved when she was 8 years old. Watson recalls being saved in 1948. This year (2008) the Smiths celebrated 63 years of marriage. Ann says, “I enjoy talking and sending cards to friends, family, and fellow church members.”

When asked about Center Point Baptist Church, they both stated, “it is more like a spiritual family to the both of us.”

If they both met a stranger this is what they would want them to know. Ann says, if I met a stranger I would want them to know that I am a Christian and that “is the main thing.”

Watson says, “I want people to know that I serve the Lord in everything that I do”

Finally, the Smiths note that they come as one, no matter what. “We come only as a pair” says Ann. So, the next time you are out and about around Gurdon, Arkansas and you see Watson Smith, you are surly to find Ann not to far behind, or vise versa.

Ann's Favorite Item is Frogs. Ann currently serves as Senior Adult Sunday School Teacher.

Watson's Favorite Item is Lighthouses. Watson currently serves as a Deacon.
